Overview
The Hope Academy Co-Op program is well suited for homeschooling families who are looking for a safe, energized social environment to supplement their studies at home.
Co-op Days
When: The co-op will take place on Fridays and will begin at 12:30 pm and end at 3:30 pm.
Classes: Each class will be an hour long and, for K-12 sturdents, we will be offering history, art, and a language arts class.
Events and Field Trips: There will not be set days for events and field trips, but all the families participating in the co-op will have the opportunity to join in the fun. I would like to have at least two field trips per month and one event per quarter. This summer, I will be preparing the calendar for both. So, if you have any ideas, I would love to hear them. The first event I am planning is the aforementioned Nevada Day party that is taking place on Thursday, October 24. We will have games, activities, and the older kids will each do a Chautauqua. McAvoy Layne, "The Ghost of Mark Twain" and well-known Mark Twain Chautauquan, is a big fan of our school and will be participating as well.
Pricing: The co-op will be $150.00 per month. This will be to cover materials and overhead for our beautiful space!
Curriculum
The Hope Academy uses carefully curated curricula from over 200 sources; some of which include RC, Well Trained Mind, Classical Academic Press, Answers in Genesis, and more! Families participating in the co-op program will have access to our unique collection of resources.
Parent Attendance
Parents are required to be on campus with their children. Our families participating in the co-op program are welcome to share their time and talent with our students. We believe parents and grandparents provide great examples of the family values we would like our students to learn.

Classes: Each class will be an hour long and, for K-12 sturdents, we will be offering history, art, and a language arts class.
- History: For the beginning of the year, we will be diving into a history project that will end in each student doing a Chautauqua at our Nevada Day party on October 24. After choosing a historical figure from Nevada's history, each student will spend time researching and preparing their Chautauqua. After October 24, we will be switching to curriculum about the Middle Ages!
- Art: Our talented art teacher, Ms. Cindy, will be teaching our Meet the Masters class. Each week, the class covers an important artist from history and the kids recreate the artist's work.
- Language Arts: Our English teacher will read great literature to the kids and talk about vocabulary, language, and grammar. This usually helps students understand the book better and inspires a love for language! Then, the kids will write their own stories based off a prompt or theme presented to them. At the end of the year, students have the opportunity to publish their story! Yes, into an actual book!
- Gardening: Students and parents will learn about winter gardens during this fun, and informative class. Check in with out Facebook this summer to see the big green surprise that will be sprouting soon!
- Culinary: Using Montessori kitchen tools, our students will enjoy making, and eating, tasty creations!
- Interactive Storytime: Blending music, dramatic play, and movement, our goal is to foster a love for stories and reading from an early age.
